Indulge in a rich and creamy Bailey’s Hot Chocolate, a delightful blend of warm milk, melted dark chocolate, and the smooth, iconic flavor of Bailey’s Irish Cream. Perfect for cozy evenings or special occasions, this comforting beverage is topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for an extra touch of decadence.

Ingredients

Hot Chocolate Base

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Liquor

  • 1/2 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream

Garnish

  • Whipped cream, to taste
  • Chocolate shavings, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the Milk: Pour 2 cups of milk into a saucepan and warm over medium heat. Heat until the milk is warm but not boiling, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Add 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips to the warm milk. Whisk continuously until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and velvety.
  3. Add Bailey’s Irish Cream: Stir in 1/2 cup of Bailey’s Irish Cream into the chocolate mixture, blending well to combine the flavors evenly.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Pour the hot chocolate into mugs. Top each serving with whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for a luxurious finish.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for the creamiest texture, or substitute with almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust the amount of Bailey’s Irish Cream to your preferred strength.
  • Chocolate shavings can be made by grating a bar of dark chocolate or using pre-made chocolate curls.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the Bailey’s Irish Cream and add a splash of vanilla extract instead.
