Delicious Chicken Parmesan Sliders made with tender chicken tenders, marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese on soft Hawaiian sweet rolls. Perfect for a party appetizer or a tasty snack, these sliders are baked until golden and served warm.

Ingredients

Rolls

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls

Chicken and Sauce

  • 20 oz bag chicken tenders
  • 1½ cups marinara sauce

Cheese

  • 8 oz Mozzarella cheese slices
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Butter Topping

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ tablespoon Italian seasoning

Garnish

  • Chopped parsley, optional

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Cook the chicken tenders according to the package instructions until fully cooked and juicy. Once done, set them aside to rest.
  2. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  3. Prepare the Rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally in half, keeping the halves connected. Place the bottom halves onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or lightly greased baking dish evenly.
  4. Layer Marinara Sauce: Spread a thin, even layer of marinara sauce over the bottom halves of the rolls to create a flavorful base.
  5. Add Chicken: Arrange the cooked chicken tenders evenly over the marinara sauce, covering all the rolls to ensure each slider gets delicious protein.
  6. Top with Sauce: Spoon the remaining marinara sauce evenly over the chicken tenders.
  7. Add Cheese: Layer mozzarella cheese slices generously over the sauced chicken to achieve that classic gooey texture.
  8. Close the Sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese-covered chicken to form complete sliders.
  9. Prepare Butter Mixture: Melt the butter in the microwave, then stir in garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese thoroughly to create a savory topping.
  10. Brush Topping: Evenly brush the seasoned butter mixture over the top of each slider to add flavor and help achieve a golden crust.
  11. Bake: Bake the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown, the butter topping is bubbly, and the cheese is fully melted and hot.
  12. Serve: Remove from oven, optionally sprinkle chopped parsley on top for freshness, and serve the sliders warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Use cooked chicken tenders for convenience, but grilled or breaded chicken can be substituted for different flavors.
  • Ensure the rolls are sliced carefully and kept attached to make assembly easier.
  • The butter topping can be adjusted with herbs based on your preference.
  • These sliders can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
  • To make it spicier, add crushed red pepper flakes to the marinara or butter mixture.
