Deliciously sweet and crunchy Cinnamon Pretzels made by coating twisted pretzels in a buttery cinnamon sugar mixture and lightly baking them to perfection. These pretzels offer a perfect balance of warm cinnamon flavor and a satisfying crunch, ideal for snacks, parties, or quick treats.

Ingredients

Coating

  • 3/4 cup coconut oil (vegetable oil can be used)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon

Pretzels

  • 16 oz twisted pretzels

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coating: In a large bowl, melt the coconut oil until fully liquid. Stir in the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and uniform in color.
  2. Coat the pretzels: Add the twisted pretzels to the cinnamon sugar mixture. Gently toss using a spatula or large spoon to ensure each pretzel is evenly coated with the mixture.
  3. Arrange for baking: Spread the coated pretzels evenly on an 11×13-inch baking sheet in a single layer to allow for even baking.
  4. Bake the pretzels: Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 3 to 5 minutes. Keep a close eye and remove the pretzels as soon as the sugar coating changes color to a light golden brown to prevent burning.
  5. Cool and serve: Allow the pretzels to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes so the coating can set and harden slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Watch the pretzels closely when baking as the sugar can burn quickly.
  • Use vegetable oil if you prefer a neutral taste over coconut flavor.
  • Store leftover pretzels in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, adjust cinnamon to taste.
  • These pretzels are best enjoyed fresh but retain some crunch for up to 2 days.
